Celeste is a biomedical engineer, the director of the Engineering Education Service Center and the award-winning author of publications such as Is There an Engineer Inside You: A Comprehensive Guide to Career Decisions in Engineering and Engineers Make a Difference: Motivating Students to Pursue an Engineering Education. She has given keynotes or presentations about engineering careers for NASA, Purdue University, Project Lead the Way Master Teacher and Counselor conferences, Rochester Institute of Technology, Princeton University, Department of Defense, Oregon State University, Society of Women Engineers conference, Hewlett Packard, National Science Teacher Association conferences, Science Discovery Centers, Girl Scouts, and more.

From its humble beginnings in 1993, BEST has now grown across the nation and is the second largest educational robotics program in the United States. BEST actively engages over 10,000 students, thousands of industry sponsors and mentors, various school districts and state departments of education, and 19 colleges and universities. BEST’s first-ever National Conference is hosted by Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, the “loveliest village on the plains”. Auburn University, a premier land-grant institution, is the largest university in Alabama, with an enrollment of approximately 24,000. The city of Auburn has a variety of restaurants, shopping facilities, and hotels.
