From its humble beginnings in 1993, BEST has now grown across the nation and is the second largest educational robotics program in the United States. BEST actively engages over 10,000 students, thousands of industry sponsors and mentors, various school districts and state departments of education, and 19 colleges and universities. BEST’s first-ever National Conference is hosted by Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, the “loveliest village on the plains”. Auburn University, a premier land-grant institution, is the largest university in Alabama, with an enrollment of approximately 24,000. The city of Auburn has a variety of restaurants, shopping facilities, and hotels. Other nearby attractions include a water park, Chewacla State Park, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, and Callaway Gardens. The many attractions of Atlanta, Georgia, are a mere 90-minute drive away.
