Call for Presentation Abstracts
Teachers, mentors, BEST hub personnel, and others with an interest in robotics education are invited to present a session or poster at the upcoming BEST National Conference. Presentation ideas should be submitted in abstract form by March 25th, 2009. See below for guidelines.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
- BEST Practices for BEST Award Success
- Fundraising for Your BEST Team
- BEST Community Outreach
- Integrating BEST into the Classroom
- Hands-on Classroom Engineering Projects
- Safety Management
- Industry and Education Partnerships: Cultivating a Future Workforce
- Fostering Alliances: Government, Industry, K-12 Education, and University
- Meeting State & National Educational Standards Through BEST
- Elementary & Middle School STEM Pipeline Programs
- Developing Effective BEST Relationships: Mentors, Coaches, Sponsors, Etc.
- Technical Topics
- Effective Team Management Practices
Guidelines
- Abstracts must be between 150-200 words in length.
- An Abstract Submission Form (available on-line at www.bestinc.org) must be completed and submitted with the abstract.
- The deadline for submission is March 25th.
- Abstracts will be accepted on the basis of content.
- Presenters will be notified of acceptance no later than March 27th.
- Presenters of accepted abstracts must register for the conference.
Publication Details
- 1. Abstract description (25 words) will be featured in the conference program guide.
- 2. Full length abstract (150-200 words) will be published in the Conference proceedings CD, which will be distributed to attendees and posted on the BEST website following the conference.
*Note: Authors of accepted presentations will not be required to submit a full-length paper. However, presenters will be expected to submit their presentation materials (handouts and PowerPoints) for inclusion in the conference CD.
